One of the first people Sango met in Exsilium, Jaime also reserves a spot as one of the people she's become closest to. The culture gap is wide and they're both always learning new things about each other and this world, and as much as Sango will protest that it doesn't matter to her how old her friends are, there is something comforting in having someone your age to endure Exsilium with. She has only good things to say about Jaime: he is kind and good-hearted, sweet and considerate, smart but not condescending, brave and dependable. She doesn't realize it, but he's also one of very few people--in Exsilium and otherwise--who can make her smile like an ordinary teenager probably should.
Thereth is both a fearsome nonhuman warrior that could probably rip a head off with her pinky finger and a really maternal lady who likes to bake cookies for orphans. She and Sango hit it off immediately, from said cookie-baking to the occasional spar to plans for shopping. Sango really likes knowing someone who's both seriously strong and also knows how to take care of the domestic side of life, and she doesn't mind the mothering nearly as much as she pretends she does.
Kang is also one of the first people Sango met here and enjoys a status as one of her closest friends as well--though perhaps their relationship has a stronger foundation on the camaraderie between soldiers than on hanging out and watching movies. She has a lot of respect for Kang and always enjoys conversing with him, and she's very grateful that he's also now helping to teach her to read. Despite all this, she doesn't know as much about him as she probably should.
Sango is not familiar with cars, let alone of the used variety or with the shady people who sell them. Nor is she yet aware that Kyubey is a shady creature selling a deal without telling her about all of its side effects. After all, who can question a face that cute? ...okay, she can, and she has, and she realizes that making a Contract was probably not the best idea and really didn't accomplish what she meant it to. But what's done is done, and Kyubey is here to help her out with navigating her new existence as a magical girl, and as far as she knows, the only thing she's really supposed to do is fight Witches, which don't even show up here. Things can't go that badly, right? ...right?
Another person Sango's known for a while. Riku is generally a pretty charming guy, not to mention one who's more than a little impressive in a fight. Her few conversations with him have left her curious but amicable, and she won't mind if she has a few more.
Blaine is the one who taught Sango how to fire a gun properly. Thus began a pretty puzzling but also strangely fulfilling friendship where she has gotten fussed over, philosophized at, and even occasionally kind of flirted with, and Sango is a little surprised to report that she doesn't mind most of it all that much. She knows that she doesn't know everything about Blaine, is perceptive enough to realize that he carries more baggage than his cheerful face lets on. But she believes that Blaine is a good person at heart, and she is glad to have him as a friend and adviser and hairdresser.
A pretty strange guy, Coby is. He's also the man who's teaching her how to reach physical strength she never even dreamed of, even if achieving it means coming home covered in bruises most of the time. Sango is grateful to have him as a teacher and as a friend; he is generally kind, he is strong, and his ideals are the kind that she can only support wholeheartedly. He is pretty awkward on more than one occasion in ways that puzzle her, and he's much more self-deprecating than she thinks he should be, but Sango cares a lot for Coby and enjoys his presence.
Chrono is probably the most polite demon Sango's ever met. She was more than a little surprised to meet someone like him, to find him hiding his heritage and actually functioning as an exorcist against his own species. She still regards him as a puzzle, even if she's grown fond of his personality and of his rapport with the energetic Rosette. Sango never in her life thought she'd be getting reading lessons from a demon in exchange for cookies, and yet here she is.
Rosette is energetic, kind, comical, and not somebody to be messed with. Sango has been fond of her since they met, reminded of her friend from home Kagome's bright spirit. She is pretty curious about this girl and the rapport she shares with Chrono, and hopes to have more reason in the future to run into her.
Their relationship began as business, when Sango volunteered to be a part of a special operations squad he was assembling in order to try and accomplish things within Exsilium. The organization of the group reminds her of fighting as a team with her troupe of demon slayers so long ago. From perhaps repeated contact alone Sango has grown to like Nate, with his serious and gruff but also kind and practical nature that reminds her of some of her neighbors from the demon slayer village. She thinks he's incredibly capable and respects and trusts him a lot, mostly as a fellow fighter but also, slowly but steadily, as a person.
Another optimistic teenage acquaintance who's kind, humorous, and fun to talk to. Collette has a quality of always seeming to be able to put a smile on peoples' faces, and Sango admires that about her. She likes Collette a lot and hopes to get to know her better.
A pretty weird dude, who has a doppelganger that also lives with them, and also a really terrible track record as a roommate.
In the beginning Seras was nice enough that Sango thought she had actually gotten a semi-normal roommate, for once. And then she learned that Seras is a dead thing that drinks human blood. All Sango's instincts say this is bad news, but... Seras' blood is donated, so... it's... okay?
Sango became his teacher by coincidence, upon discovering him being pretty incompetent with a sword in the training facilities. She's grown pretty fond of him since and enjoys their banter more than she'll admit, but she also dislikes the parts of his personality that are lazy or apathetic, and the two of them stand to have clashing opinions...
