Puella Magi Sango Magica

When informed of the nuclear bombing plot that would wipe out Exsilium in late September, Sango made a Contract with Kyubey to try (and ultimately fail) to save the island! For those not Puella Magi-savvy, that basically means that she made a wish in exchange for becoming a magical girl, whose purpose is to fight supernatural beings called Witches that are very difficult for humans to defeat. It sounds too good to be true, which it is, because there are a whole lot of side effects!

THE GOOD:
  • Super strength, agility, speed
  • Magical super-healing
  • Can't feel pain
  • A super-cool transformation sequence and cute shoujo magical girl outfit!
  • Magic powers/special attacks (I'll get to that later)
  • The adorable and fluffy cat-rabbit-alien familiar Kyubey follows around giving advice
THE UGLY:
  • Soul is removed from body and put into a 'soul gem,' which takes the form of a teardrop-shaped gemstone or a small ring, and becomes the technical new body. The soul gem is the main point of weakness, and when removed from it a magical girl will fall into a coma-like state; when it is destroyed, so is the girl. (Characters with an affinity/sense for souls and the like will probably be able to sense that the soul is separate.)
  • Soul gems become tainted with the more magic that's used. Even if a magical girl does not use her magic to fight, she is using magic by existing because of her soul's attachment to the soul gem. To remedy this, she must hunt Witches who occasionally drop Grief Seeds, which, when used, reduce the taint of a soul gem. There are no in-game instances of Witches at this moment, and therefore no Grief Seeds to hold soul gem taint at bay. When a soul gem becomes too tainted, a magical girl falls into despair to become a Witch herself that must be hunted and killed.
A magical girl who becomes a Witch in Exsilium and is killed will revive, but without any of the magical girl powers. (Unless, of course, the Initiative's revival-machine is on the fritz, and she stays dead until it's not.) You can probably see where I'm going with this, though hopefully there will be some time before it comes into play.

As for those special magic powers! There is, as I mentioned: speed, strength, agility, super-healing, feels no pain, etc. etc. Magic abilities and attacks specific to Sango include:

WEAPONSPAM: The main method of attack she'll use in magical girl form. If an object was designed to cause injury or incapacitation, Sango will summon it and fling it at you. Especially if it's a weapon prominent in shounen manga! Swords, knives, kunai/shuriken, throwing-sickles, spears, battleaxes, maces, even the occasional gunfire--and especially boomerangs of all sizes, with edges blunted or sharpened as deemed necessary. (The girl loves herself some boomerang, okay.) I say 'weaponspam' and mean it, because she'll likely use multiple variegated weapons at once. Think early TenTen from Naruto, if that helps at all!

POISON: As someone with an extensive knowledge of poisons (mostly for demons but those will usually work on humans too), Sango will also have an ability to coat her weaponspamming with poisons of different uses (probably mostly paralysis or incapacitation or severe injury, though fatality is possible). She'll also have a seemingly infinite supply of well-aimed pellets and dust handfuls so as to make the weapon an optional vehicle for distribution.

CHAIN: Less of an attack and more of a form of incapacitation, defense, and rescue. A large, seemingly infinitely long and nearly indestructible silver chain that can be used to intercept attacks by slamming the force away or knitting a veritable wall of metal. It's almost prehensile, and Sango can use it to wrap around falling people or large objects and to wrap around/incapacitate enemies. For those familiar with PMMM Mami's hair ribbons, it functions sort of similarly to that.

And that's pretty much it. Feel free to ask any questions!
